Haydar Al Yasiry

Haydar Al-Yasiry is a distinguished Iraqi-born portrait artist who now resides in Michigan. He receivedhis diploma from the Institute of Fine Arts in Basra-Iraq.  He started his career as a portrait painter in Iraq and art design for several newspapers and journals. He was a caricaturist for Arab American Newspaper, and the artistic manager of the immigrant papers magazine. Additionally, he is a theater set designer. Al-Yasiry teaches art and the history of Arabic and Islamic Art.His illustrations have been shown in several collective exhibits around the United States, and he wrote a book on caricature portraiture.He is a member of the Iraqi Society of Artists, the Arabic Caricaturist-Syria, the Union of Iraqi Artists, and the Portrait Society of America. He is one of the founders of Iraqi Association of Iraqi Artists in Michigan
